No, I was born in Zurich but moved to Davos by the age of 6

7 What is the length of the blade of your skate and what is your shoe-size?
blade length is 17inch, shoe size about 43 (custom made van Horn)
8 In case you look in the mirror, what colour do your eyes have?
Blue
9 How do good friends call you, do you have some nick-name too?

10 Do you have a brother and/or a sister? And do they skate as well?
Yes I do have a younger brother, no he`s not a skater
11 Did you connect yourself already with someone? I mean are you married?
I`m not married

No, I`am in a wonderful relationship
14 Is there someone who is special to you, who you can call a friend?
yes, my girlfriend.

I do believe that there is something or someone
16 Now you are a speed skater you cannot use what you studied in school but what kind of schools or studies did you do anyway and for how long?
I did gymnasium, coming january I will have my bachelor degree in exercise and health sciences (sport), after I will attend the university of calgary to do my master degree in kinesiology
17 What kind of work did you do before you started skating and are you still working next to your skating career?
I worked and I am still working as a peronal trainer in a fitness centre and as an assistant manager
18 Of course you like speed skating but what kind of activities do you like as well? What kind of hobbies do you have?
my girlfriend ;) movies, music, hanging out with friends
19 If you train and live your life as you do, you will burn a lot of energy so, you need to get new energy by eating. What do you need to eat for fully recover and what kind of food do you like the most?

21 It is well known that top sport athletes have to travel a lot and live months and months in hotel rooms all over the world. A favourite way of spending time is watching movies. Which movie is your best ever and please, tell us why?
the invincible (mark wahlberg) I just like the way he becomes a successful athlete after beeing a bartender, it just really moved me emotionally
22 Also waiting on airports or during long-distance training sessions, good music will help focus and motivate. Which music bands and/or artist do you like the most?
U2, Ben Harper, Foo Fighters, Goldfrapp, Bryan Adams, placebo, the killers
23 On which love song would you propose your partner for marriage or what is the love song of you and your today's partner?
I dont have a particular lovesong with my partner right now, but I really like close encounter from clouseau
24 What is your best book ever and for what reason?
the davinci code, I didnt want to stop reading till the end!!
25 Which car would you buy if you ever can? And do you have a car right now?
A corvette stingray (older models), no, I can use my parents car or my girlfriends car if I need it!
26 You have seen a lot of countries but which country do you like the most and for what reason?
Canada, just because of the good friends i have there and of course the perfect training facility beside the wonderful nature
27 Who is your 'all time favourite' speed skater and why? Did you ever meet?
Jeff Kitura (canada) yes, I actually lived at his place and did some trainings with him
28 Which (international) sportsman or woman, in another kind of sport, is your absolute hero? What do you admire about him/ her?
Roger Federer, his discipline, his modesty, his natural behaviours even though he is one of the most successful athletes in the world
29 Can you tell us what is your secret to make someone happy?

30 What can make you sad in life and how do you handle that?
careless people, well I am happy for what I have and what I do, just try to do the best in every situation
31 Can you share a situation with us in which you can be very shy?
A Date, meeting new people

nothing really
33 If you can change your life, which person would you like to be for one day?
Roger Federer, his discipline, his modesty, his natural behaviours even though he is one of the most successful athletes in the world

his ability to stay so foucused and calm

striving for my goals
36 What is the best compliment you ever had and who gave it to you?
at the beginning you are really quiet and shy, you seem like invincible, but after you feel comfortable and safe you bloom like a flower ( my flying teacher in airforce pilot pre school)

my childhood, growing up home
38 Of what do you dream often and will you achieve it one day, or did you achieve it already?
be a participating athlete in olympic games
39 Everybody has some worries but what is your biggest worry for the future?
becoming ill or injured very heavy

Depends on the Situation, if casual just some nice jeans and polo shirt, othervise a suit

be thankful for what they have and try to do the best out of every situation
43 Imagine... you have to go to an island where nobody is living and you can just take one person with you: whom would you like to take with you?

pain is temporary pride forever
45 When you have finished your speed skating career do you have already thoughts about what to do?
working in the area of kinesiology (especially coaching, exercise testing, personal trainer, eventually sportmanagement)

my parents
47 If there is one piece or part of yourself what you could change, what will it be?
beeing a little bit less caotic beeing able to dance ;)
48 Booking a long trip with the plane to the other side of the world knowing it will take you almost 24 hrs, to whom would you like to sit next to in the plane and why?
an elderly happy person, a lot of priceless advice and thousands of storys
49 Why you started speed skating anyway and how old were you at that time?
I did some Inlineskating before, then I tried the Ice version of it, I was 20 years old
50 Which sport(s) did you do before speed skating and what made you decide to choose for speed skating?
The challenge of always competing against myself and my times, I just love the feeling of speedskating, I did judo, soccer, mountainbiking, and fitness training
51 What kind of other sports are your favourites?
Cycling, snowboarding, Inlineskating
52 What was your first important speed skating event and how did you race?
world cup teampursuit in heerenveen, we skated a swiss record
53 Is there any highlight in your career, which is the most special one for you?
Skating world cups, and skating a swiss record at worldcup in heerenveen in the teampursuit
54 Which personal skating result would you like to forget and because of what?
None, its all part of my development!
55 How many hours do you train per week in winter? And how many in the summer?
In winter about 20, in summer about 20-24
56 Which trainers did you have had until now and what did you learn from them until so far?
Ronald Bosker, a lot of technique, Angela Seulan, skating better ;) and Arno Hogevelt, a brilliant coach
57 What would you like to develop as a speed skater? How do you think you can improve it?
Getting to my absolute maximum, hard but smart work
58 Skates are very important for top sport athletes like you, what brand of skates do you have and why?
Van Horn Custom made boots ( 1 year old), perfect suited, fast
59 At which ice-rink do you feel 'home' and which one do you consider as 'the best'?
The best calgary, home Davos and Calgary
60 How many hours do you sleep per day,or per night? And can you sleep easily during important events? Do you meditate or something like that?
between 7 and 9 hours, no trouble sleeping, I do mental training and pilates
61 Is there anything what you would you like to say to your fans?

I would really thank my parents for supporting me!!!
63 Will you be an Olympic Champ one day and what will you do for it in order to achieving that?
That is a dream, but first of all I try to participate in olympic games in vancouver 2010. To reach that high goal, I will move to calgary
